Lexus recently unveiled a range of updates for its flagship LS model in Japan, with a strong focus on enhancing safety and convenience.
One of the most significant improvements of the LS 2024 is the introduction of a new 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, which is accompanied by the existing 12.3-inch touch-screen infotainment display that was previously added in the previous update.
Notably, the Japanese version of the Lexus LS 2024 is equipped with the latest version of the Lexus Safety System + ADAS safety system. This updated safety system includes the Active Drive Assist function, which aids in reducing the risk of accidents by maintaining a safe distance from pedestrians, bicycles, and parked vehicles. Additionally, the collision warning system utilizes radar and cameras to prevent collisions and detect driver distractions. The Lexus Teammate provides assistance in dealing with traffic jams and remote parking.
Furthermore, owners can now utilize their smartphones as digital keys, providing added convenience. Additionally, the hybrid version of the LS 2024 (LS 500h) is now equipped with an external power supply system for emergency situations.
Continuous efforts to enhance the overall driving experience are evident as Lexus engineers have increased the chassis’ stiffness, upgraded the suspension system, and effectively reduced vibration and noise. Moreover, the previously limited Dynamic Rear Steering (DRS) rear-wheel steering system is now available on AWD models as well.
In Japan, the Lexus LS 2024 is priced between 10,940,000 to 17,990,000 Yen (equivalent to approximately 73,414 to 120,765 USD). The car is set to be available for purchase in Japan starting from October 16th.
