Rare Vintage Cars Showcased in Saigon

On October 2, a collection of rare vintage cars from various brands gathered on the outskirts of Can Gio district in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. These vehicles belong to a company that specializes in rental car services.

The 1966 Ford Mustang Convertible is one of the longest-standing Mustangs in Vietnam. It belongs to the first generation of Mustangs produced by the manufacturer, with a production span from 1964 to 1973. The Mustang Convertible not only embodies the essence of the classic American muscle car line, but also features a sporty and open design thanks to its convertible top. According to statistics, there are currently only about 15 1967 yellow-colored Ford Mustangs like the one pictured here. It was first unveiled in 1964 at the New York Auto Show and instantly captivated visitors with its rugged design, which is commonly seen in American cars. The 1972 Mustang Grande is a highly rare model in Vietnam. It comes equipped with luxurious interior features such as high-back fabric seats, electric clocks, decorative interior trim with cast handles and volutes, and a two-spoke steering wheel, among others. Photograph by Phuc Loc Nguyen.

The Toyota FJ40 belongs to the Land Cruiser series produced from 1960 to 2001. With its traditional SUV body-on-frame construction, most Land Cruiser 40 series models were designed as 2-door vehicles that are slightly larger than their similar counterpart, the Jeep CJ.
