Recently, a prototype of the new Kia Carnival was spotted on the streets of South Korea, giving us a closer glimpse of its updated exterior design. The Kia Carnival boasts a sophisticated yet rugged exterior, taking inspiration from the “Modern Boldness” concept of the Korean car manufacturer.
The minivan’s headlights and taillights have undergone a complete revamp, now featuring a distinctive “T” shape. The front grille has also received an update, with different styles available depending on the version. The model captured in the picture belongs to the Gravity edition, which showcases dark metallic accents. Additionally, the front bumper has been streamlined, and the fog lights have been removed in favor of vertically arranged headlights.
Moving to the rear, the 2024 Carnival flaunts smoother lines as it no longer sports a handle to open the trunk. Another noticeable change is the lower placement of the Kia logo, which no longer shares space with the LED strip. The reflector lights on the rear bumper are also slimmer compared to the previous design.
While interior images of the 2024 Carnival have not been released by Kia, reports from Korean media suggest that the car will come equipped with a curved screen and fingerprint recognition technology, similar to the new K5 model.
One of the most highly anticipated changes lies under the hood, as the 2024 Carnival is expected to feature a hybrid powertrain. This powertrain will combine a turbocharged 1.6L gasoline engine with an electric motor, believed to be inherited from the Sorento. Although the exact power output of this hybrid configuration has not been disclosed, the Sorento SUV, which shares a similar powertrain, produces a combined output of 227 horsepower.
More official details about the 2024 Kia Carnival will be revealed soon.
