The World Motorcycle Technician Competition, organized by Honda Motor, was held for the first time on October 7-8, 2023 in Tokyo, Japan. More than 89,000 technicians from around the world participated in the competition, with only the most outstanding technicians from 5 regions, including Japan, Americas, Europe, Asia-Pacific, Africa, and Middle East, being selected as contestants.
Honda Vietnam proudly sent 3 contestants to compete in the small-displacement motorcycle category. They were Nguyen Van Linh from HEAD Hoa Binh Minh #1, Nguyen To Bo from HEAD Vu Hoang Le #1, and Nguyen Hoang Hung from HEAD Hoang Viet #5.
The competition focused on various aspects of motorcycle knowledge, including maintenance techniques, repair techniques, and diagnostic techniques, all centered around Honda motorcycles. Despite the challenge of competing on the Cub 110cc bike, a product not available in the Vietnamese market, the Vietnamese technicians showcased their courage, confidence, knowledge, and skills.
As a result, the Vietnamese technicians achieved remarkable overall results. Masngudin from Indonesia secured the first place in the Asia-Pacific region, followed by Xing Deqing from China in the second place. Nguyen To Bo from Vietnam proudly claimed the third place in the same region.
These achievements are a testament to the hard work and dedication of the Honda Vietnam team, as well as the guidance and strategy provided by the HEAD centers in training technicians. The Honda Vietnam team’s success in the 2023 World Motorcycle Technician Competition is a source of great pride for both the contestants and the organization.
