2020 Racing Plan Revealed by Honda Asia-Dream Racing with SHOWA Racing Team

At a press conference prior to the Sepang 8 Hours race in Malaysia, the Honda Asia-Dream Racing with SHOWA (HADR) team revealed their racing strategies for the 2020 season. Consisting of skilled individuals from various Honda companies and racing teams in Asia and the Pacific, HADR aims to make their mark in the FIM Endurance World Championships.

In 2019, the HADR racing team successfully completed the Asian Road Racing Championship (ARRC 2019) in the ASB1000 category, finishing in 4th place overall. Rider Zaqwan Zaidi also secured an impressive 3rd place finish overall. Additionally, the team achieved a commendable 12th place finish in the JSB1000 category of the All-Japan Road Race Championship 2019 (JSB) and an 11th place finish in the challenging Suzuka 8-hour endurance race.

Looking ahead to 2020, the team remains dedicated to pursuing further success in the ASB1000 category of the ARRC. Their goal is to clinch the championship title. The team will also be participating in the highly anticipated Suzuka 8-hour race and the highly competitive JSB 1000 championship, aiming to achieve the best possible results. Makoto Tamada, a former MotoGP champion and the team’s manager since its establishment, will continue to serve as the team manager. Zaqwan Zaidi, the talented Malaysian rider and former SS600 champion, will continue to race for the team with the ultimate goal of winning the championship.

In addition, Gerry Salim, the AP250 class champion of ARRC 2018, will join forces with HADR. Racing alongside Zaqwan Zaidi, Gerry Salim will be representing the Indonesia Astra Honda Racing team, supported by SHOWA.

Both HADR riders will be utilizing the state-of-the-art Honda CBR1000RR-R model, the latest racing machine from the renowned CBR series. This exceptional motorcycle was unveiled at the EICMA 2019 exhibition. With the inclusion of this model in their lineup, HADR asserts its position as one of the leading racing teams in Asia and the Pacific.
