The BMW R 18 Roctane is the latest addition to the R 18 family, featuring a stylish Bagger design. Inspired by the iconic R 5, this new version showcases a double-loop frame, pear-shaped fuel tank, and shaft drive reminiscent of the 1936 bike.
Incorporating the classic R 5 elements, the BMW R 18 Roctane sports LED lights, wheel covers, and a rear grab rail. It rides on alloy wheels, with a 21-inch front wheel and an 18-inch rear wheel.
The Roctane offers a comfortable riding experience with its tapered two-tier saddle. The bike features a minimalist instrument panel with vintage-style “Berlin Build” lettering. It also comes with body-matched cargo cases, providing a storage capacity of 27 liters. Additional accessories include a windscreen, auxiliary lights, and heated handlebars.
Apart from its timeless design, the R 18 Roctane boasts non-electronically adjustable suspension. It is equipped with an automatic stability control system, Engine Drag Torque Control, and three riding modes: Rain, Rock, and Roll. Optional features such as hill start control and reverse assist can also be added.
Powering the BMW R 18 Roctane is a 1.8L (1,802cc) 2-cylinder engine that delivers 90 horsepower and 158 Nm of torque. The engine is finished in Avus Black and features a glossy black finish, along with a dark chrome exhaust system.
The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox, enabling the bike to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 180 km/h. In the US market, the BMW R 18 Roctane is priced from $18,695 to $19,590.
