Due to the high cost of inputs, the Mazda CX-5 has undergone a slight adjustment with a 5 million VND price increase for its 4 versions. However, it remains the most appealing C-segment SUV in the Vietnamese market.
Recently, Thaco announced a price adjustment for its popular Mazda CX-5 SUV. The 2.0 Luxury, 2.0 Premium, 2.0L Premium Sport, and 2.0L Premium Exclusive versions have all received a 5 million VND price increase. The remaining versions, including the standard 2.0 Deluxe, have maintained their prices. As a result, the CX-5 continues to be one of the most competitively priced SUVs in the C-segment, starting at 749 million VND.
Thaco did not disclose the specific reason behind the price increase for the CX-5. However, sales staff at the dealership mentioned that the adjustment was driven by higher component costs.
In July 2023, Thaco introduced an upgraded version of the Mazda CX-5 in Vietnam, featuring minor changes in its appearance and additional equipment. Surprisingly, the price of the new version is 90 million VND lower than its predecessor.
The attractive pricing has generated significant demand for the Mazda CX-5 in the Vietnamese market. According to sales data from the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (VAMA), the Mazda CX-5 has been the best-selling model in the market for the past two months (August, September, and October), with sales surpassing 2,000 units per month.
In the year-to-date best-selling car rankings, the Mazda CX-5 has climbed to the second position, with a total of 13,031 units sold, trailing only the Mitsubishi Xpander (with over 15,000 units sold).
The price adjustment of the Mazda CX-5 has sparked a price war, prompting other manufacturers to adjust their list prices in order to compete. Notably, the Hyundai Tucson has undergone a reduction of nearly 200 million VND.
