GSM Electric Taxi Service in Laos: Official Launch

Starting from the 9th of November, 2023, residents of Vientiane and international tourists visiting Laos will be able to easily book Green SM taxis through the Green SM Laos app on the App Store and Play Store, similar to other ride-hailing companies. Additionally, customers can also hail a taxi directly on the street. Transparent information about the route and fare will be provided for each trip.

Initially, Green SM Laos will be utilizing the VinFast VF 5 Plus model, which is painted in the brand’s trademark green color (cyan) and deployed in the capital city of Vientiane.

The number of cars is expected to increase to 1,000 and expand to famous tourist towns like Vang Vieng (Vientiane), as well as other provinces and cities such as Luang Prabang, Savannakhet, Champasak… in subsequent phases.
