Targeting young urban commuters, Yamaha has launched the new NEO’S electric scooter in the Vietnamese market on December 30, 2022. This electric scooter, previously exported to the European market by Yamaha Motor Vietnam, is now available for Vietnamese customers.

The Yamaha NEO’S is priced at 50 million VND in Vietnam and is offered in three color options: Black, White, and Blue. Customers can expect the delivery of their scooters in February 2023.

Built on the foundation of the previous generation NEO’S 50cc scooter and inspired by the Jin-ki Kanno EV concept MOTOROiD design platform, the Yamaha NEO’S boasts a unique and impressive appearance that sets it apart from other electric scooters currently available in Vietnam.

This model has compact dimensions, with a length of 1,875 mm, a width of 695 mm, a height of 1,120 mm, and a seat height of 795 mm.

Yamaha has designed the NEO’S scooter with the rider in mind, utilizing a vertical-oriented ergonomic design. The battery and suspension system, on the other hand, make use of a horizontal-oriented mechanical design.

The front of the scooter features a minimalist design, highlighted by the LED light cluster.

The tail of the scooter features a sleek and tidy design.

The Yamaha NEO’S electric scooter is equipped with various modern features for added convenience, including an LED lighting system, smart key, LCD screen, integrated phone charging compartment, and the Y-Connect application, which allows riders to connect their scooters with their phones.

The LCD instrument panel and integrated phone charging compartment are incredibly convenient.

The Yamaha NEO’S utilizes a second-generation YIPU electric motor, exclusively designed by Yamaha, to provide smooth operation. The scooter features a brushless electric motor, air-cooling, and a direct-drive system, ensuring smooth and efficient power transmission. However, its performance is still limited, equivalent to that of a 50cc gasoline engine scooter.

The scooter’s battery is a lithium-ion type and can be easily removed.

The Yamaha NEO’S achieves a maximum power output of 2.3 kW and a maximum torque of 138.3 Nm in a speed range of 0 to 40 rpm. It takes 8 hours to fully charge the scooter, and it can travel up to 72 km on a single charge at a speed of 30 km/h.

The Yamaha NEO’S offers a range of 72 km on a single charge.

In Vietnam, the Yamaha NEO’S will compete with other electric scooter models such as VinFast Klara, VinFast Vento, Yadea G5, and Pega S.
