A state-of-the-art solution for preventing theft and monitoring motorcycles was launched by Viettel Telecom, a subsidiary of Viettel Group, on December 18th.

The first layer of protection includes various power interruption features, alarm alerts, and notifications (phone calls, text messages) sent to the owner in order to deter thieves from tampering with the motorcycle. This system is effective in situations such as key theft, counterfeit key creation, lock breaking, and attempts to bypass the protective device.

The second layer of protection utilizes telecommunications networks and a Global Positioning System (GPS) to prevent criminal activities. It allows for remote engine shut off commands, location determination for investigation and search purposes.

Furthermore, Smart Motor users can take advantage of integrated features such as vehicle tracking, finding gas stations, and locating ATMs.

According to Mr. Do Minh Phuong, CEO of Viettel Telecom, the price of Smart Motor is affordable for most users, costing VND 1.55 million per set. This cost includes installation, network activation, and the first year of service. Subsequent years will require an annual fee of VND 300,000. The extensive telecommunications network coverage provided by Viettel is an additional advantage that enhances the product’s usability.
