The modified car can now accommodate up to 10 people at once, doubling its previous capacity.

A Chinese TikToker recently shared pictures of his modified Volkswagen Lamando that has been widened by twice its original size, leaving many people amazed. The car has been aptly named 5XL, reflecting its enlarged form.

With its widened dimensions, the 5XL car now measures 3,000 mm instead of the original 1,826 mm. In the front row, the passenger seat has been replaced with a bench seat, allowing for two passengers. The rear row has been expanded to accommodate up to five seats. According to the TikToker, the car can now seat a total of 10 people simultaneously.

The increase in width has also resulted in changes to the cabin size. However, the engine size remains the same, leaving the entire area on the right side under the hood empty. As a result of the widening and structural modifications, the car now operates on a single wheel drivetrain, with only the front left wheel remaining next to the engine.

The original Volkswagen Lamando

The Volkswagen Lamando L is known for its wide-bodied design. It is the extended version of the Lamando, which is a model developed and sold by the SAIC-Volkswagen joint venture in China since 2014. In its default configuration, the Lamando L has a cabin with five seats and dimensions of 4,784 mm in length, 1,831 mm in width, and 1,469 mm in height.

The Volkswagen Lamando L is equipped with a TSI 1.4L engine that generates 150 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque. The power is transmitted to the front axle through a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
