AutoSpy has recently unveiled images of what is believed to be the prototype of the KIA K8 facelift undergoing testing in South Korea. This K8 prototype appears to be in the early stages of development.

Spotted near the Hyundai-Kia R&D Center, the disguised upgraded KIA K8 prototype hides any noticeable design changes at the front and rear. However, it is expected that the most significant updates will be focused on the front, giving the vehicle a fresh and more appealing look.

In terms of powertrain, we don’t anticipate any major changes compared to the current version. However, there may be some minor adjustments aimed at enhancing engine efficiency and upgrading the battery pack to extend the operating range for the HEV variant.

As for the interior, taking cues from the recently launched Sorento, it is likely that the KIA K8 Facelift will feature a large curved display that integrates a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch infotainment screen. This system will be complemented by the latest safety features and technology. Furthermore, the new steering wheel is inspired by the EV9 model.

Kia has not yet announced the official release date for the K8 Facelift; however, it is expected to debut in South Korea in the summer of 2024, with European and American versions launching towards the end of 2024.
