The 2024 Kia Sorento, completely redesigned, was revealed in South Korea on July 25th. This mid-size SUV showcases Kia’s newest, more sophisticated design language, as well as a sleek and modern interior. The global versions of this SUV are set to make their debut in August.
Shortly after Kia unveiled the first official images of the 2024 Sorento, real-life photos emerged showing this SUV cruising the streets of South Korea.
First and foremost, one can’t help but notice the redesigned front of the car, highlighted by slimmer and vertically-stacked LED headlights. The T-shaped daytime running lights on the Sorento draw inspiration from the flagship electric model Kia EV9, while also reminiscent of the smaller electric model EV5. The 3D tiger-nose grille is similar to the one found on the Carnival.
The rear of the car has also undergone refinements with redesigned taillights and rear bumper trim. Meanwhile, the sides of the car haven’t changed much, apart from the addition of new, more muscular-looking alloy wheels.
As for the interior of the 2024 Kia Sorento, the designers have crafted a more ergonomic layout. The car now boasts a new large curved display, combining two 12.3-inch screens that serve as both the digital instrument cluster and infotainment system. This new design gives the interior of the 2024 Kia Sorento a neater and more contemporary look.
A notable new addition to the Sorento’s tech features is the fingerprint authentication system, allowing users to verify their identity for starting the car or performing simple payment transactions. Additionally, the car offers new interior trim material options, including a black/brown combination.
Similar to its predecessor, the Kia Sorento facelift will be available in the domestic market of South Korea with a range of powertrain options, including petrol, diesel, and hybrid variants. The hybrid model will be offered in both 2WD and 4WD configurations. Additionally, a plug-in hybrid version is expected to be introduced in other markets.
