2025 Toyota Camry: Experience a Total Makeover with Hybrid Powertrain

The all-new Toyota Camry was recently unveiled on November 15th, creating a buzz among customers and the media. Over the years, Camry has been a flagship model for Toyota, leading the sales in the sedan segment not only in the US market but also globally.

The previous generation of Camry was introduced in 2017, so updating this model is crucial for Toyota to maintain its competitive edge. Rivals like the Honda Accord and Kia K5 have already released newer versions.

Although known for its conservative nature, Toyota has been increasingly committed to electrification, and the all-new Camry showcases this dedication. All versions of this sedan now come with a hybrid powertrain. The hybrid system combines a 2.5L 4-cylinder inline gasoline engine (delivers 225 horsepower in front-wheel drive models and 232 horsepower in all-wheel drive models) with two electric motors. While the exact specifications for the 2025 Toyota Camry have not been disclosed, the company has emphasized refining the hybrid system to reduce engine noise at low rpm.

Additionally, Toyota has announced the discontinuation of the V6 engine in the 2025 Camry. This decision was expected, given the declining demand for large-displacement engines. Currently, the 3.5L V6 engine variant represents just 7% of Camry’s sales this year.

Known for its timeless design, the Toyota Camry has received high praise. However, the exterior of the new generation has sparked controversy among customers. Some believe that the new Camry bears a significant resemblance to recent Toyota models and lacks unique features. Undeniably, the influence of the Crown can be seen in the front of the car, particularly in the shark-inspired headlights and front grille.

The interior of the 2025 Toyota Camry has received significant upgrades compared to the previous generation. Standard features include a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen, dual-zone automatic climate control, keyless start, wireless phone charging, and more.

The SE version of the Toyota Camry 2025 features sporty aluminum pedals, steering wheel paddle shifters, a black honeycomb grille, body-colored rear spoiler and diffuser, dual exhaust pipes, and a black Camry emblem. Upgrading to higher trim levels like XSE and XLE adds a 12.3-inch dual-screen, 19-inch alloy wheels, heated seats, acoustic glass, ambient lighting, and a smart key.

All versions of the 2025 Camry come with the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 safety package. This system includes advanced features like forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, lane departure assist, road sign assist, automatic headlights, blind spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.

The XLE and XSE versions also offer the Premium Plus package, which boasts additional features such as traffic jam assist, front cross-traffic warning, lane change assist, panoramic view monitor, front/rear parking assist, and automatic braking.

The 2025 Toyota Camry is set to hit US dealerships in spring 2024. The starting price for the 2024 Camry is $26,420 for the gasoline version and $28,855 for the hybrid version. With the inclusion of the hybrid engine, it is predicted that the price of the 2025 Camry will increase by approximately 10% compared to the previous generation.
