Next-Level Transformation for the Hyundai Palisade, Following in the Footsteps of the Santa Fe 2024

Despite the ongoing debates about the design of the Santa Fe 2024, the Korean automaker remains undeterred as they continue to develop the next-generation Hyundai Palisade.

The Hyundai Palisade is a large SUV that was first introduced in 2018. After 5 years, Hyundai has now started developing the new generation of this model.

Hyundai has not released much information regarding the new generation Palisade. However, the Deputy Chairman of Hyundai’s product planning department has hinted a few things about the design of this model.

Specifically, in a recent interview at the 2023 Los Angeles Auto Show, Olabisi Boyle confirmed that the new generation Palisade will have a completely revamped design like the Santa Fe 2024. Of course, the new Hyundai Palisade will have a different exterior from the Santa Fe 2024.

“We are redesigning the Palisade,” Boyle told Carbuzz. “I think you will be very excited. We want to take what customers like to a new level. I am very excited for the day this car is launched. However, I cannot reveal much more”.

Even before its official debut in the market in August 2023, the new generation Hyundai Santa Fe has become a topic of controversy due to its exterior design. It seems that the mixed reactions from consumers have not made the Hyundai brand hesitate in planning for the new Palisade.

Unfortunately, Boyle did not reveal the launch date of the new Hyundai Palisade. It would not be surprising if this model has to wait a few more years before it can be released.

Currently, the Hyundai Palisade still has good sales on the market. In 2022, Hyundai sold a total of 82,688 Palisade vehicles to US customers. From the beginning of the year to November 2023, this large SUV has achieved cumulative sales of 75,113 units.

In Vietnam, the Hyundai Palisade is currently being distributed by the official dealer with 4 versions and prices ranging from 1,469 – 1,589 billion VND. Although it is cheaper than some competitors like the Ford Explorer and Volkswagen Teramont, the Hyundai newcomer is still being “sold out” at some dealerships due to limited supply.

The Hyundai Palisade in Vietnam has an impressive exterior design and is fully equipped with features such as full LED Projector headlights, LED daytime running lights, 18 – 20 inch alloy wheels, LED taillights and power-adjustable tailgate. In addition, it features cooling/heating for the front 2 rows, 12-way power-adjustable front seats, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and center touchscreen display, 12-speaker Infinity sound system, panoramic sunroof, 10-inch head-up display, electronic parking brake, charging ports for all 3 rows, and electronic anti-glare rearview mirror.

The “heart” of the Hyundai Palisade in Vietnam is the R 2.2 diesel engine, with a maximum power of 200 horsepower and a peak torque of 440 Nm. Coupled with this engine is an 8-speed automatic transmission and the HTRAC 4WD system.

The safety equipment of the vehicle is also abundant, including 7 airbags, tire pressure monitoring, adaptive headlights, blind spot collision avoidance assistance, rear cross-traffic collision avoidance assistance, collision warning when exiting the vehicle, lane-keeping assist LFA & LKA, forward collision avoidance FCA, smart cruise control, driver attention warning DAW, and active parking assist.
