BYD has reported impressive sales figures for November, with a total of 301,903 new energy vehicles (NEV) sold. This represents a 31% increase from the previous year and is nearly the same as October’s sales. Of the total NEV sales, 170,150 units were battery electric vehicles (BEV) and 131,228 units were plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV), a decrease of 3.22% from the previous month.
Despite another record-breaking month for BYD, the month-on-month growth rate was only 0.27%. From January to November, the company has sold a total of 2,683,374 vehicles. To achieve its goal of selling 3 million vehicles by the end of the year, BYD needs to deliver approximately 320,000 units in December.
In terms of the delivery ratio, PHEVs accounted for 43.47% of BYD’s sales, while BEVs accounted for 56.36%. Since April of last year, BYD has ceased production of internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles. In September, BEV sales accounted for 52.5% of total sales, and in October, they accounted for 54.9%.
BYD’s sales figures include both its main brand and its subsidiary brands. YangWang U8 delivered 408 units, Fang Cheng Bao Bao delivered 5,626 units, and Denza delivered 11,843 units. The sales of Denza were boosted by the D9 MPV, which sold 10,446 units. The Ocean and Dynasty models, which are part of the BYD brand, accounted for 288,501 vehicles sold.
BYD also exported 30,629 vehicles to global markets, representing a significant increase of 148.65% from the previous year. The main export product is the Yuan Plus crossover, also known as the Atto 3.
Furthermore, BYD has announced major promotional programs as part of its year-end sales push. Some models, such as the BYD Han EV, have undergone further price reductions. The Han EV’s price has been reduced by 20,000 yuan ($2,800). These price reductions are only applicable for vehicles purchased between December 1 and December 31, highlighting BYD’s marketing strategy for the end of the year.
Specific models, including the BYD Qin DM-i (Dual Motor), Qin EV, Han DM-i, and DM-p PHEV, have received price reductions of 10,000 yuan ($1,400). The Tang DM-i SUV has been discounted by 15,000 yuan ($2,100), while the Tang EV, which is the BEV variant, has been reduced by 10,000 yuan. The Yuan Plus (Atto 3) has also been discounted by 3,000 yuan ($420).
