After traveling for three months on the roads of China – Mongolia, a tycoon from Hai Phong recently returned to Vietnam with his “beloved” Porsche 911 Dakar 2023.
The Hai Phong tycoon’s Porsche has been brought back to the country since August. This is the first genuine 911 Dakar car in Vietnam and one of the 2,500 cars produced worldwide.
This car has the sequence number 1904, which coincides with the owner’s date of birth.
Just five days after receiving the Porsche 911 Dakar 2023 sports car, worth over 16 billion VND, the Hai Phong tycoon, along with his brothers, embarked on a journey of tens of thousands of kilometers from Vietnam to China and the Gobi Desert. This offroad supercar has conquered many terrains, from deserts to snow roads, mountain climbing, and even water crossings.
After months of traveling, on the evening of November 30, the convoy of cars belonging to the Hai Phong tycoon officially returned to Vietnam through the Tay Trang International Border Gate in Dien Bien district, Dien Bien province.
Throughout the journey, the Porsche 911 Dakar 2023 has covered approximately 35,000 km.
The Porsche 911 Dakar is developed based on the platform of the standard 911 Carrera but has been upgraded to be able to handle different terrains. Porsche has adjusted the suspension system and raised the ground clearance of the car by an additional 80 mm compared to the standard 911 versions, reaching 200 mm.
When activating the Off-road High Level mode, the ground clearance of the car increases by an additional 30 mm. This gives the model a ground clearance and operational angles in rough terrains that are comparable to ordinary SUVs, allowing the car to overcome high speed bumps and rumble strips without worrying about scraping. These features have helped the Hai Phong tycoon successfully complete the transcontinental journey through challenging terrains.
This car has many personalized details according to the owner’s preferences, such as a signature on the door sill, an additional anti-rollover frame, a roof rack, daytime LED lighting on the roof rack, and other accessories for offroad journeys.
Providing power for the Porsche 911 Dakar is a 3.0L 6-cylinder boxer engine with 473 horsepower and 570 Nm of torque, coupled with an 8-speed PDK automatic gearbox and AWD. With this power, the car can accelerate to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 240 km/h.
