The latest teaser images showcase the front of the new Toyota Land Cruiser, featuring a boxy design. Reminiscent of the 1980s Land Cruiser 60-series (J60), the 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser boasts rectangular headlights. A black grille sits between these headlights.
Furthermore, a new video reveals some of the SUV’s rear design. The rear of the 2025 Land Cruiser draws inspiration from the 60-series Land Cruiser.
Earlier, Toyota released backlit photos featuring the new Land Cruiser alongside the FJ40 generation from 1960.
The proportions of the new model’s body and windows appear similar to the 2024 Lexus GX. This suggests that these two SUVs will share the same frame platform as their predecessors. However, the new Land Cruiser seems to have redesigned its body to differentiate itself from its sibling. The front end is more square-shaped with smaller and lower headlights, possibly connected to the grille.
At the rear, the taillights are larger but retain the classic style. They are combined with a high-raised bumper that reminds us of previous Land Cruiser generations.
The interior is expected to offer a three-row configuration with seven seats. It will combine practicality with the latest technology features from Toyota.
The Toyota Land Cruiser 2025 is likely to share the TNGA-F platform with the Lexus GX and other SUV models, as well as other pickup trucks from the Japanese automaker. If it has the same length as the 5,005mm GX, it will be slightly larger than the currently distributed Land Cruiser J300, which measures 4,985mm in other markets. However, the different front and rear bumper designs may affect the length of the new Land Cruiser.
Regarding the powertrain, it’s expected that the Land Cruiser 2025 will be equipped with a twin-turbo V6 3.4L engine, producing a maximum output of 349 horsepower, similar to the Lexus GX. It may also offer the option of an i-Force Max hybrid powertrain with a combined output of 437 horsepower, as seen on the Toyota Sequoia electrified model. Regardless of the engine choice, the Land Cruiser 2025 is highly likely to come with a 10-speed automatic transmission and a full-time 4WD system.
