Stepping into the next generation, the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe undergoes a complete redesign compared to its predecessor. The new model showcases a boxy design with elements reminiscent of Land Rovers, new H-shaped headlights, and a premium aesthetic optimized for outdoor lifestyle enthusiasts, according to Hyundai.
The all-new Santa Fe, inspired by a fusion of urban living and outdoor activities, aims to cater to all types of family journeys, from camping adventures to off-road explorations. Hyundai’s Global Design Center Director, SangYup Lee, stated, “With a longer wheelbase, more spacious interior, and larger cargo space, the Santa Fe will enhance the customer experience.”
The 2024 Santa Fe’s front face stands out with its distinct H-shaped headlight cluster, which is also reflected in the radiator grille and rear bumper, creating a sense of visual harmony. The pronounced wheel arches highlight the vehicle’s performance capabilities, while the 21-inch wheels contribute to its powerful and imposing presence.
The fifth-generation Santa Fe boasts a longer wheelbase and an expanded cargo area, providing owners with ample storage space. While the exact interior volume has not been disclosed by Hyundai, the company claims that fully foldable second and third-row seats will offer best-in-class spaciousness.
In contrast to its bold and muscular exterior, the interior of the new Santa Fe embraces a more refined approach. The H-shaped pattern continues to inspire the cabin design, while vibrant seats and headliners contribute to a sense of spaciousness. Premium decorative elements, such as soft wood panels and exquisitely embroidered seats, further enhance the overall luxury appeal.
In terms of equipment and technology, the new Santa Fe comes equipped with a curved display housing a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch infotainment system.
While Hyundai has not released detailed technical specifications, the “2.5T” badge at the rear confirms that the vehicle will be powered by a 2.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, generating a maximum power output of 277 horsepower and a torque of 421 Nm, similar to the current Santa Fe. A hybrid version is also expected to be available in North America, while the European market may receive a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder T-GDi engine with 226 horsepower, as well as a robust plug-in hybrid variant with 261 horsepower.
Hyundai has announced that the official unveiling of the new Santa Fe will take place on the company’s YouTube channel in August.
