Recently, several dealers have announced that they are now accepting deposits for the Toyota Hilux pickup truck and are promising to deliver the vehicle in April 2024.

According to sales consultants, the Toyota Hilux 2024 will still be available in two versions: the 2.4L 4×2 AT and the 2.8L 4×4 AT Adventure. The prices will be lower by over a hundred million dong compared to the previous model, ranging from 700 to over 900 million dong.

Especially, the new Adventure version will be available in limited quantity, although Toyota Vietnam has not confirmed this information yet. Currently, the official website of the distributor only shows the 2.4L 4×2 AT version of the Toyota Hilux.

Previously known for its prominence in the pickup truck segment, the Toyota Hilux was abruptly discontinued in 2022 due to not meeting the emission requirements. However, it made a comeback at the end of March this year with only one version available, the 2.4L 4×2 AT version, priced at 852 million dong, which is 178 million dong higher compared to before.

Despite the price increase, the car’s features and equipment have not been significantly upgraded. This has led to the Hilux 2023 not meeting users’ expectations and consistently ranking among the top unsold vehicles every month.

Currently, the Toyota Hilux has the lowest sales volume in its segment, with only 106 vehicles sold in the first 9 months of 2023. In comparison, its competitor, the Ford Ranger, has sold 11,235 vehicles and the Mitsubishi Triton has sold 1,566 vehicles.

However, with a more affordable price compared to its previous version, the Toyota Hilux 2024 may soon overcome its unsold status, improving its sales performance and position in the pickup truck segment.
