The Suzuki Baleno, a new hatchback model with 5 doors, was first presented at the Frankfurt 2015 exhibition in September. Since then, Suzuki has launched the Baleno in the Indian market.

The Suzuki Baleno originated in the Indian market and has since been exported to over 100 other countries. It comes as no surprise that India is the first country to receive this new affordable hatchback from Suzuki.

In the Indian market, the new Suzuki Baleno is available in 9 different variants, including both petrol and diesel engines. The price of the Baleno in India ranges from 499,000 to 811,000 Rupees, which is equivalent to 171 to 278 million Dong.

In the Indian market, the Suzuki Baleno competes directly with models like the Hyundai i20 and Honda Jazz.

The dimensions of the new Suzuki Baleno include a length of 3,995 mm, a width of 1,745 mm, and a height of 1,500 mm. The wheelbase is 2,520 mm and the ground clearance is 170 mm. The Baleno has a fuel tank capacity of 37 liters and a luggage compartment volume of 339 liters.

The Suzuki Baleno is equipped with projector headlamps, LED daytime running lights, LED tail lights, and UV protection glass.

The car features 16-inch alloy wheels with 185/65 R16 front tires and 195/55/R16 rear tires.

Inside the car, you will find a start button, central locking system, tilt adjustable leather-wrapped steering wheel with integrated audio control buttons, automatic air conditioning, and a storage compartment under the center armrest.

The car is equipped with the SmartPlay infotainment system that includes FM/MP3/CD, Bluetooth, AUX and USB connectivity, navigation, voice command, and support for SmartphoneConnect/Apple CarPlay apps.

The multi-information color screen is located in the instrument cluster.

The rear seats can be folded in a 60:40 ratio.

In the Indian market, the Suzuki Baleno is available with 2 engine options. The first is a 4-cylinder, DOHC, 1.2-liter K-Series petrol engine, producing a maximum power of 84.3 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and a peak torque of 115 Nm at 4,000 rpm. It can be paired with either a 5-speed manual or CVT gearbox, and has an average fuel consumption of 21.4 km/liter or 4.6 liters/100 km.

The second engine option is a 4-cylinder, DOHC, 1.3-liter DDiS diesel engine, producing a maximum power of 75 horsepower at 4,000 rpm and a peak torque of 190 Nm at 2,000 rpm. It is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and has an average fuel consumption of 27.39 km/liter or 3.6 liters/100 km.

In terms of safety features, the Suzuki Baleno is equipped with disc brakes on the front wheels, an anti-theft alarm system, anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD), front fog lights, automatic headlights, 2 airbags, anti-glare rear-view mirrors, reverse/parking sensors, reverse parking camera, and rear windshield defogger.
