Heartbreaking Destruction of Corvette and Camaro Cars in HBO Film Set Fire

Last Thursday, a fire broke out at the temporary HBO film set in Ellenville, New York, resulting in the destruction of a used car dealership and at least 27 vintage Chevrolet Corvette and Camaro cars from the 1990s. These cars were awaiting filming, and several other vehicles in the surrounding area were also damaged.

The number of cars affected was provided to HBO by Jamie Kitman, the editor-in-chief of Automobile Magazine New York, through his own company. Although there was significant damage, fortunately, no one was injured in the devastating fire.

The exact count of cars destroyed has not been determined accurately, as the authorities reported that there was “nothing left intact” at the scene of the fire. This was partly due to the fuel stored in the vehicles. It was reported by MotorTrend that the fire originated from inside the dealership and spread outward. The estimated damage is in the millions of dollars.

The text from 613 Automotive Group, which is the dealership where the cars were stored, lists the major car models destroyed in the fire as classic Corvette/Camaro cars, C1500/454 SS pickup trucks, and a special edition Indy Pace Car of a Chevrolet Beretta 1990.
