Recently, there have been rumors circulating in the Vietnamese online community about the arrival of a more than 60-year-old Bentley S1 in Vietnam. The shared images depict a black/silver Bentley S1 with shining alloy wheels and white-painted tires, reflecting its classic style.
It is said that this Bentley S1 belongs to the 1957 model year and has now reached the age of 62. If these rumors are true, it will become the oldest Bentley in Vietnam upon its arrival.
The Bentley S1, also known as the Bentley S, was produced from 1955 to 1959, with a total production of over 3,500 units. This car model drew inspiration from the Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud, resulting in many design similarities between the two models. The most notable difference lies in the radiator grille and the front emblem.
Subsequently, the Bentley S1 was succeeded by the Bentley S2. The Bentley S2 features an aluminum engine, a 6.2-liter V8 engine, power-assisted steering, and a redesigned dashboard.
The Bentley S1 is equipped with a 6-cylinder inline engine, a 4.9-liter displacement, and a 4-speed automatic transmission. During testing, this model demonstrated an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 13.1 seconds and a top speed of 166 km/h. The vehicle weighs 1,924 kg.
The Bentley S1 bears a resemblance to the Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud model.
Rebirth of a discarded car into an “unparalleled” vehicle
The group of students has repainted the Fiat and completely replaced its engine. Instead of keeping the original 1.1-liter inline 4-cylinder gasoline engine, these young individuals have replaced it with an electric motor. This allows the car to travel for a long period of time and become more environmentally friendly.
