The news of the day is that a photo of the Hongqi N701, the official Chinese President Xi Jinping’s limousine, has been circulating on social media. The photo shows the car at a gas station in Vietnam, where it will be used during Xi Jinping’s state visit on December 12th and 13th.

The car was disguised while on the streets of Vietnam, but the red and yellow logo on the rims gave it away as a Hongqi car.

The Hongqi N701 made its debut during Xi Jinping’s visit to Hong Kong in July 2022. Prior to that, he used the Hongqi N501 as his official limousine.

Like other official vehicles, the technical specifications of the Hongqi N701 are kept secret. However, it is expected to be over 5 meters long, with most of the space allocated to the rear seats, as indicated by the large rear windows.

Besides its size, the Hongqi N701 also features an exterior design reminiscent of the Rolls-Royce Phantom. It has a large rectangular grille, neatly arranged headlights, and an extended central air intake on the front bumper.

It is also adorned with a red flag logo on the bonnet and front mudguard, large multi-spoke alloy wheels, and reflective strips on the rear bumper. To create a luxurious feel, chrome details can be found throughout the car’s exterior.

For security purposes, it is speculated that the Hongqi N701 has an armored body and bulletproof glass. As for the engine, it is predicted to be either a V8 or V12 petrol engine, similar to other models in the Hongqi lineup.

Rumors suggest that around 50 Hongqi N701 cars will be produced for Xi Jinping over a period of 10 years. In Vietnam, the Hongqi brand is officially distributing two car models, the E-HS9 and H9, with starting prices of 2.678 billion VND and 1.508 billion VND, respectively.
