In August of this year, rumors began to circulate in the Vietnamese car market regarding Hyundai’s upcoming launch of a brand new A-segment SUV. At that time, many speculated that this SUV would be the recently released Hyundai Exter in India.

Now, it seems that the mysterious A-segment SUV that Hyundai is about to introduce in Vietnam is likely to be the Venue. The official launch of this car in Vietnam is scheduled for December 16th.

Compared to the Exter, the Hyundai Venue boasts a larger size. This model, found in markets outside of India, measures 4,041 x 1,770 x 1,617 mm and has a wheelbase of 2,500 mm. With these dimensions, the Hyundai Venue will be a direct competitor to the Kia Sonet and Toyota Raize when it hits the Vietnamese market.

Having undergone an upgrade in the Indian market in June 2022, the Hyundai Venue sports an exterior design reminiscent of a downsized version of the Creta and Tucson. This shouldn’t come as a surprise, as the car also incorporates Hyundai’s Sensuous Sportiness design philosophy.

The Hyundai Venue features a design that resembles the downsized Creta and Tucson.

The highlight of this A-segment SUV lies in its large chrome grille at the front of the car. Additionally, it boasts a dual-tier headlamp cluster with fog lamps, turn signals positioned above, and low-beam headlights located below. The headlamp cluster is further accented by LED daytime running lights.

Other notable design elements of the car include a wide central air intake, silver front/rear skid plates, 16-inch alloy wheels with a striking multi-spoke design, roof rails, a shark fin antenna, and taillights that form a “T” shape, stretching horizontally across the rear of the car.

Inside the Hyundai Venue, you’ll find a steering wheel design similar to that of the Tucson, integrated paddle shifters, a 4-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, a digital instrument cluster, an 8-inch touchscreen display, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto support, a Bose audio system, a sunroof, automatic air conditioning with an air filter, rear seat vents, interior ambient lighting, and wireless phone charging.

In India, this A-segment SUV comes equipped with H2C features, allowing users to remotely adjust the air conditioning, lock/unlock the doors, check the car’s status, locate the car, and monitor tire pressure and fuel level.

As of now, it remains unclear which engine will power the Hyundai Venue in Vietnam. In India, the car is available with three engine options. The first is a turbocharged Kappa T-GDI gasoline engine with direct fuel injection, boasting a displacement of 1.0L, a maximum power output of 118 horsepower, and a peak torque of 172 Nm. The second option is a naturally aspirated Kappa gasoline engine with a displacement of 1.2L, delivering a maximum power output of 82 horsepower and a peak torque of 115 Nm. Finally, there’s the 1.5L CRDI diesel engine, which generates 99 horsepower and 240 Nm of peak torque.

Depending on the chosen engine, the car will be paired with either a 5-speed manual transmission, a 6-speed manual transmission, a 6-speed iMT manual transmission (sans clutch pedal), or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The car also offers Normal, Eco, and Sport driving modes, which are accessible via a rotary knob on the central control panel.

Lastly, the Hyundai Venue comes with a range of safety features, including 6 airbags, tire pressure monitoring, rear parking sensors, cruise control, electronic stability control, hill-start assist, a reverse camera, and automatic high beam headlights.

Similar to most other Hyundai models, it is likely that the Venue will be assembled in Vietnam.
