Since August 2023, Kia, the South Korean automaker, has introduced an enhanced version of the regular Sportage. And now, they have just announced the arrival of the new hybrid variant.
As per the announcement, the 2024 Sportage Hybrid will be available in three editions: Sportage Hybrid LX, Sportage Hybrid EX, and Sportage Hybrid SX Prestige, with prices ranging from $28,290 to $37,190.
The base LX variant of the Kia Sportage Hybrid 2024 will come equipped with a soundproof windshield, one-way rearview mirror, and 17-inch alloy wheels.
On the other hand, the two higher versions will also feature LED fog lights, power-adjustable trunk, sunroof, and 18-inch alloy wheels.
In terms of interior, the Sportage Hybrid 2024 will offer various modern conveniences such as an 8-inch touch screen, a 12.2-inch digital instrument cluster, dual-zone automatic air conditioning, and a 6-speaker entertainment system in the standard version.
For the EX and SX Prestige variants, the car will boast a curved integrated screen with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch infotainment system, a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, heated/ventilated front seats, a Harman Kardon audio system, and a wireless smartphone charger.
The safety features of the 2024 Kia Sportage Hybrid include LED headlights, front collision avoidance assist, lane-keeping assist, lane departure warning, and parking assist.
The top-tier version of the car will additionally offer features such as highway driving assist, adaptive cruise control, blind spot warning, rear cross traffic alert, rear occupant alert, remote smart parking assist, blind-spot view monitor, and surround-view monitor.
The Kia Sportage Hybrid 2024 is powered by a 4-cylinder 1.6L turbocharged engine combined with 2 electric motors and a 1.49 kWh battery pack. The car delivers a total power output of 227 horsepower and 349 Nm torque. The manufacturer claims an average fuel consumption of 5.47 liters per 100 km.
Currently, the hybrid version of Kia Sportage is not available in Vietnam. However, it is highly likely that the Sportage will be equipped with a hybrid engine in the future. If introduced in Vietnam, the Kia Sportage Hybrid will compete with the Honda CR-V HEV.
