LEVC – The electric vehicle company owned by Geely Group has recently introduced a pure electric minivan inspired by the Airbus A380 commercial aircraft.
Founded in 1919 and headquartered in the UK, LEVC is a passenger transport company. It was acquired by Geely Group (China) from LTI Limited in 2013 and transformed into an electric vehicle manufacturer.
LEVC has recently unveiled the LEVC L380, a luxury pure electric minivan. This electric vehicle takes inspiration from the world’s largest wide-body passenger aircraft, the Airbus A380.
The LEVC L380 has dimensions of 5,316 x 1,998 x 1,940 mm (length x width x height) with a wheelbase of 3,185 mm. It has an unladen weight of 2,805 kg. The spacious size allows for an 8-seat cabin, even in the last row.
Although there is limited information available about the LEVC L380, the released images showcase its aerodynamic design, highlighted by a short front and horizontal LED daytime running lights.
According to the company, the LEVC L380 has been independently developed based on Geely’s new Space Oriented Architecture (SOA) platform, which was announced in May this year. It is an upgraded version of the SEA (Scalable Electric Architecture) platform, which has been used in various Geely Group models like the Zeekr 009 and Volvo EM90.
As for performance, CarNewsChina reports that the LEVC L380 is equipped with a 268 horsepower electric motor. It utilizes a battery pack produced by the CATL-Geely joint venture, providing a maximum range of 695 km when fully charged.
Carscoops states that the LEVC L380 will be officially launched in China in the coming weeks. The MPV model is manufactured in Zhejiang, China, alongside the LEVC TX. Competitors in the Chinese market include the Zeekr 009, Volvo EM90, Li Mega, Denza D9, Xpeng X9, and Maxus Mifa 9.
