Honda’s first electric model for the ASEAN region will be launched ahead of schedule.
Following Honda’s testing of the e:N1 EV at the Tochigi Testing Center in Japan a few months ago, the Japanese automaker has now commenced commercial production of this model. Specifically, the Honda e:N1 EV is being manufactured at the Prachinburi factory in Thailand. This makes Honda the first major Japanese automaker to produce electric cars in the Land of Smiles.
Essentially, the Honda e:N1 is an all-electric variant of the HR-V crossover model. The e:N1 is built on Honda’s e:N Architecture F EV platform with front-wheel drive and features an integrated three-in-one drivetrain (electric drive, motor, transmission).

The vehicle is equipped with an electric motor that boasts a maximum power output of 201 horsepower and a peak torque of 310 Nm, offering higher performance than the 1.5 VTEC Turbo engine found in the HR-V. It is coupled with a 68.8 kWh battery pack, delivering a range of 412 km per charge according to WLTP standards and 510 km per charge according to NEDC standards. This all-electric crossover is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.6 seconds, with a top speed of 160 km/h. The vehicle features 3 driving modes: ECON / Normal / Sport.
Further details about the e:N1 crossover have not yet been disclosed by Honda, but we won’t have to wait long to learn more about this new all-electric model from the Japanese automaker. Honda has stated that it may launch the e:N1 crossover in the first quarter of 2024.
