In particular, the license plate 88A – 688.88 from Vinh Phuc province has generated significant interest among participants ever since it was listed. The bidding price continued to rise every minute, every second. Finally, after 30 minutes, the license plate was sold for 3,035,000,000 Vietnamese dong.
According to Eastern beliefs, the number 8 is called “Bat” in Hán Vi?t and it is believed to bring luck, prosperity, success in work, a bright career, and abundance. Therefore, for business people or those who appreciate unique license plates, a license plate with repeated number 8 holds great value.
Previously, there have been several unique license plates from different provinces and cities that were sold at high prices. For example, the license plate 22A-222.22 from Tuyen Quang was sold for 12.19 billion Vietnamese dong. The license plate 11A-111.11 from Cao Bang was sold for a staggering 8.78 billion Vietnamese dong.
Under the new license plate auction regulations, the duration of the auction has been reduced from 60 minutes to 30 minutes. Participants can register for an auction account using their phone number and provide their citizen identification number and business tax code.
In addition, if there is only one eligible participant registered at the end of the registration period, the license plate will be transferred to that person.
