Peugeot 408 launches in Vietnam at a starting price of 1,019 billion VND with silent price adjustments.

All three versions of the Peugeot 408 have seen a price hike of 20 million VND when compared to the original listed price.

The Peugeot 408 is a brand new car model that was introduced to the Vietnamese market on October 21, 2023. It comes in three versions: Allure, Premium, and GT. Initially, the prices for these versions were 999 million, 1.099 billion, and 1.249 billion VND, respectively. However, shortly after its launch, Peugeot 408 quietly adjusted its prices.

Currently, the prices for the Peugeot 408 Allure, Premium, and GT versions are 1.019 billion, 1.119 billion, and 1.269 billion VND, respectively. This means that all three versions have seen a price increase of 20 million VND compared to their initial listed prices.

Despite the price changes, the equipment of the Peugeot 408 in Vietnam remains the same. This car is positioned in the mid-size SUV segment and has dimensions of 4,690 x 1,859 x 1,480 mm (length x width x height) with a wheelbase of 2,787 mm. Compared to other mid-size SUV models like the Mazda CX-5 or Honda CR-V, the Peugeot newcomer is slightly smaller in size.

Developed on a different platform from its sibling in the same segment, the Peugeot 3008, this car stands out with its stylish coupe-like SUV design. Additionally, it features distinctive design elements of the French brand, such as the full front grille and LED headlights with fang-shaped and lion claw shapes.

The Peugeot 408 boasts a sporty and personality-driven exterior

In the base version, this car comes with automatically-activated/deactivated LED headlights, 18-inch alloy wheels, and a conventionally powered trunk lid. On the other hand, the flagship GT version comes with Matrix LED headlights with an automatic beam balance function, 20-inch alloy wheels, and a trunk lid with an integrated trunk sensor.

The Peugeot 408 features a coupe-like SUV design

Inside the car, the Peugeot 408 is designed with the Peugeot New i-cockpit language, which offers wide visibility and an intuitive 3D display. Additionally, it has a flat-designed central control area, a compact and flexible steering wheel, and a centrally-hinged touchscreen that faces the driver.

Notable standard interior features of the car include leather seats, a digital instrument cluster, and a 10-inch central touchscreen. The top-of-the-line version will be equipped with Nappa leather front seats with a massage function, two central screens, and a Focal 10-speaker sound system.

Under the hood, the car is equipped with a 1.6 Turbo Puretech petrol engine that produces a maximum power of 218 horsepower and a peak torque of 300 Nm. This engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters on the steering wheel, allowing the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.8 seconds.

Finally, the car comes with safety features such as an active safety braking system using cameras, lane-keeping assist, traffic sign recognition, lane change assist, adaptive cruise control with Stop & Go function, lane centering assist, and active braking assist based on radar and 360-degree cameras.
