The Mazda CX-80 is set to be a larger 3-row version of the CX-60, so its exterior design is expected to be similar to that of the CX-60. However, there will be some minor differences, such as longer rear doors, a redesigned lower rear bumper, and wider D-pillars.

Inside the cabin, the CX-80 will likely have a layout similar to the CX-60 and CX-90, with some improvements. One area of improvement could be making the interior more distinctive and unique.
Passengers in the rear seats will enjoy increased legroom in both the second and third rows. The CX-80 is expected to be a 7-seater version, unlike the 8-seater CX-90.

The interior amenities of the CX-80 are expected to include a digital gauge cluster, a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, wireless support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 360-degree surround-view monitor, a heads-up display, and interior ambient lighting.
The CX-80 is built on Mazda’s large-size rear-wheel-drive platform, which should provide better stability when driving on rough terrain compared to the CX-60.
The CX-80 will have a longer wheelbase than the CX-60, measuring at 2,870 mm. However, it may not exceed the 3,119 mm wheelbase of the CX-90 in the North American market.
Engine options for the CX-80 will include a mild hybrid diesel engine, the e-Skyactiv D 3.3L inline 6-cylinder engine producing 251 horsepower, a mild hybrid e-Skyactiv-G 3.3L gasoline engine producing 280 horsepower, and a plug-in hybrid 2.5L 4-cylinder engine producing 323 horsepower. All models will come with Mazda’s unique 8-speed automatic transmission and a choice of either rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.
Additionally, there have been hints that the CX-80 may also be offered with a 3.0L inline 6-cylinder engine named the e-Skyactiv X, which is expected to be one of the most fuel-efficient inline 6-cylinder engines available.
When it is officially launched, the CX-80 will face tough competition from various rivals, including the BMW X3, Peugeot 5008, Hyundai Santa Fe, Nissan X-Trail, Kia Sorento, and Skoda Kodiaq. The European unveiling of the CX-80 is set to take place later this year.
