Bentley Customers Save More Than 100 Million VND on Custom Detail

Bentley's interior features a one-of-a-kind 3-sided rotating dashboard that took more than 3 years to develop. The attention to detail and craftsmanship in creating this innovative feature is evident, as it has become a top choice for most Bentley buyers.

Bentley customers are willing to spend over $6,000 on the optional dashboard veneer finish, with approximately 70% of them choosing this luxurious upgrade.

What makes this detail so special is that it is meticulously crafted from 153 individual pieces, with each surface having a precision tolerance of about 0.3mm. As shown below, one side of the veneer provides a sleek and polished look, while the other side showcases three analog gauges and a touchscreen display.

The touchscreen measures 12.3 inches and serves as the infotainment interface, while the analog gauges display the outside temperature, compass, and chronograph. But how do you switch between these different display options?

Bentley explains that this requires a series of three separate yet interconnected movements. The first movement pulls the device into the dashboard, creating space for the second phase, which involves rotation. Finally, the screen smoothly moves back into its original position. This intricate movement involves 40 components, including gears and a transmission controlled by a dedicated ECU. Yes, you read that right – the dashboard has its own computer just to seamlessly switch between display options. And it’s clear that it works, given the 70% customer interest in this system three years ago.

This year, Bentley has been recognized for its innovation by the Automobile Awards judges. Additionally, 2023 marks the 20th anniversary of the introduction of Bentley’s twin-turbocharged 6.0L W12 engine, which sadly will be retired after this year. The final model featuring this iconic engine will be produced in April next year, as Bentley prepares to transition to a fully electric vehicle lineup by 2030.

However, there is some good news. Bentley promises to give the W12 engine a memorable send-off, hinting at the possibility of special edition variants. These limited editions could be based on the already exceptional Bentley Batur model, featuring the most powerful incarnation of the W12 engine. In previous iterations, the W12 engine boasted an impressive power output of 740 horsepower and 1,000Nm of torque.
