Daihatsu has announced that it has resumed vehicle shipments in Indonesia after temporarily halting all domestic and global shipments due to improper safety inspections. Indonesia is the first country to clear Daihatsu of the safety scandal, and the company is also working to resume exports in other Asian countries. In Japan, Daihatsu is expected to suspend production at all domestic plants until the end of January. The third-party committee established by Daihatsu has expanded the number of affected vehicles to 64 models, including all 11 models sold in Japan. Daihatsu has reported the investigation results to the Japanese Ministries and held press conferences on the matter. Toyota Vietnam has suspended the delivery of Daihatsu-related vehicles to dealerships for further verification, but only one affected model is being stopped in Vietnam. Toyota Vietnam is working with regulatory agencies to resolve the issue.
