After a pause due to Covid-19, in the 2022 – 2023 academic year, HVN has resumed the “Giving helmets to first and second grade students combined with traffic safety training for parents and students” program in three major provinces/cities: Hanoi, Can Tho, and Ho Chi Minh City. In addition to the decision to donate 2 million helmets to first grade students nationwide this year, the total number of HVN helmets donated will reach nearly 8.6 million helmets.
As part of the program, on 18/12/2023, HVN collaborated with the National Traffic Safety Committee and the Ministry of Education and Training to organize an event to launch the helmet donation and provide traffic safety training for first grade students and parents in the southern region at Truong Dinh primary school, Tay Ninh city.
As part of the program, students from Truong Dinh primary school represented the students in the southern region to receive standard helmets from the leaders of Honda Vietnam Company, the National Traffic Safety Committee, the Ministry of Education and Training, and representatives. Additionally, practical traffic safety training activities, promoting a humanitarian aspect, with the aim to enhance awareness of safe participation in traffic and risk avoidance skills were implemented with over 1,000 students and especially nearly 400 parents.
The helmet donation program for first grade students in the southern region at Truong Dinh school contributes to the total number of helmet donation events from the beginning of the 2023 – 2024 school year up until now, reaching 405 events, with a total of over 260,000 students and nearly 44,000 student parents trained in traffic safety knowledge. This will serve as a foundation for HVN to further promote the implementation of future programs in the coming time.
