With an affordable price tag, the VinFast VF 5 Plus possesses numerous advantages which position it as the top choice for an electric car in the Vietnamese market.
According to the recent announcement made on VinFast’s website, starting from January 1, 2024, the suggested retail price for the VF 5 Plus model will increase by 10 million VND. Thus, the new price for the VinFast VF 5 Plus will be 468 million VND (excluding the battery) and 548 million VND with the battery included. This policy is applicable to individuals who make a deposit or purchase the car from January 1, 2024.
Despite the price increase, the VinFast VF 5 Plus remains significantly more competitively priced compared to gasoline-powered competitors of similar size. For instance, the Toyota Raize is listed at 552 million VND, the Kia Sonet falls within the price range of 519-574 million VND, and the Hyundai Venue starts at 539 million VND, going up to 579 million VND.
In addition, the VinFast VF 5 Plus also benefits from a government exemption on the first registration fee as it is classified as an electric vehicle. Consequently, the on-road price of the VF 5 Plus, even when the battery is purchased separately, can rival that of other vehicles in the same segment.
Regarding the battery rental policy for the VinFast VF 5 Plus, there are no changes. Customers will need to place a deposit of 15 million VND for battery rental and choose between two service packages: 1.6 million VND/month for mileage under 3,000 km or 2.7 million VND/month for mileage over 3,000 km.
The VinFast VF 5 Plus belongs to the A-segment CUV category, representing the smallest electric car lineup from VinFast in terms of dimensions: length, width, and height measuring 3,965 x 1,720 x 1,580 (mm) respectively. These measurements make it slightly smaller than its sibling, the VinFast VF e34, which is currently available in the market. With a wheelbase of 2,514 mm, the car surpasses the Kia Sonet and Hyundai Venue but falls slightly shorter than the Toyota Raize. The VF 5 Plus distinguishes itself with its high ground clearance and large departure angle, enabling seamless maneuverability across various terrains and urban areas.
Inside the VinFast VF 5 Plus, you will find 5 seats and convenient amenities such as a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, an 8-inch center touch screen, and manually adjustable seats (6-way). However, the car is only equipped with a mechanical handbrake and does not feature an armrest.
When compared to its gasoline-powered competitors, the VinFast VF 5 Plus gains an edge with its advanced driving assistance technologies, including cruise control, rear-cross traffic alert, blind-spot warning, traffic alert until the door is opened, reverse assist, and rearview camera.
The VinFast VF 5 Plus is powered by an electric motor, capable of delivering a maximum power of 100 kW (equivalent to approximately 134 horsepower) and a maximum torque of 135 Nm. The vehicle is equipped with a battery pack boasting a capacity of 37.23 kWh, thus providing a maximum operating range of approximately 300 km.
