Recently, there was a severe fire incident involving a Tesla Model Y on a highway in the United States.
Reportedly, at around 11 PM, this Tesla Model Y collided with another vehicle on the Autauga County highway in the USA. Subsequently, the battery compartment of the Tesla caught fire intensively.
Upon receiving the report, the authorities promptly arrived at the scene. After several hours of firefighting and utilizing 136,000 liters of water, the fire brigade successfully managed to suppress the fire originating from this electric car.
Not only did they encounter challenges when the electric car’s battery continued to reignite after being extinguished, but the smoke from the burning electric car also emitted highly toxic gases such as Hydrogen fluoride and Hydrogen Chloride, significantly impeding the firefighting efforts of the authorities.
Fortunately, the driver of the Tesla Model Y only sustained minor injuries in the fire. However, this individual has been temporarily detained by the police for further investigation into the cause of the accident.
This is not the first time a Tesla electric car has caught fire. Earlier this year, another Tesla Model S unexpectedly caught fire on a highway. Subsequently, the authorities had to mobilize over 22,000 liters of water to extinguish the fire. Similarly, in another fire incident involving a Nissan Leaf EV, it took 170,000 liters of water to control the fire.
