The brand new 2024 Lexus GX is already one of the most versatile SUVs available on the market today, but the latest custom version of this luxury SUV is even more impressive.

Lexus has teamed up with Japanese tuner Jaos to introduce the GX 550 Overtrail model at the 2024 Tokyo Auto Salon, featuring a more rugged appearance. According to the Japanese luxury automaker, the “Overtrail” edition aims to create a “dependable model capable of conquering the most challenging terrains” and showcases the GX model’s customization potential.

Jaos’ custom bodykit gives the GX a sturdier and more rugged look compared to the standard version. Enhancements include a new front bumper, matte black fender flares, steel side steps, and aluminum skid plates on both ends. Additionally, the vehicle is equipped with a black aluminum Jaos Flat Rack roof rack, providing convenient space for additional luggage.

The Overtrail edition features 18-inch Jaos Tribe Cross wheels wrapped in Toyo Tires Open Country A/T III all-terrain tires. Furthermore, the vehicle comes with adjustable Harmofleq 2 shock absorbers, which help improve ground clearance.

Powering the 2024 Lexus GX 550 Overtrail is still the twin-turbocharged 3.4-liter V6 gasoline engine. The engine generates a maximum power of 349 horsepower and a peak torque of 650 Nm, paired with a 4WD system and a 10-speed automatic transmission. The GX shares the GA-F ladder-frame platform with the Toyota Land Cruiser J250, although the Toyota Land Cruiser J250 does not come with a V6 engine.
