Anticipating Suzuki Jimny 5-door Launch in Southeast Asia, Including Vietnam

Although it has not been officially launched in Southeast Asia, this model has quickly attracted the attention of many people.

Currently, the official price has not been announced. In the Singapore market, Suzuki only distributes the 3-door version of Jimny with a price of 139,888 Singapore dollars (approximately 2.57 billion VND). In Vietnam, the expected price for the 3-door Suzuki Jimny is from 789 million VND.

The 5-door version of Suzuki Jimny is much larger in size compared to the 3-door version. The car has dimensions of 3,985 x 1,645 x 1,720 mm (length x width x height) and a wheelbase of 2,590 mm.

Aside from the difference in size and number of doors, the design of the 5-door and 3-door Jimny is still similar. The car still features a boxy shape, resembling a “mini G-Class”.

The car stands out with its round headlights, a front grille formed by vertical bars, 15-inch multi-spoke wheels, and a spare tire mounted at the rear.

In terms of interior, the cabin of the 5-door Jimny is not different from the 3-door version. The car still has 4 seats and a luggage compartment with a capacity of 208 liters, which can be expanded to 332 liters when the rear seats are folded.

The car is equipped with a touch-screen infotainment screen located in the center of the dashboard, a combination of analog and digital instrument cluster, a 3-spoke steering wheel with integrated functions, and keyless ignition.

In the rear seats, the 5-door Jimny offers a significantly larger space compared to the 3-door version but it still only provides 2 seats. Basic amenities such as air conditioning vents or armrests are not available.

Powering the Suzuki Jimny 5-door is still a 1.5L naturally aspirated engine producing 103 horsepower and 134 Nm of torque. The car is equipped with a 4-speed automatic transmission and an AllGrip Pro AWD four-wheel drive system.

One of the strengths of the 5-door Suzuki Jimny is its off-road capabilities thanks to its detachable chassis, a ground clearance of 210 mm, and approach and departure angles equivalent to the 3-door version.
