iSeeCars, a research website and car buying consultancy, conducted a study to determine the most durable cars that continue to perform well even after traveling approximately 400,000 km.

In their analysis, iSeeCars examined over 260 million cars sold in the US market from 2012 to 2022 to provide objective evaluations of car models that excel after surpassing the 400,000 km mark.

iSeeCars developed a model that looked at the odometer reading for each year of a car’s lifespan to evaluate its performance.

According to the survey and analysis conducted by iSeeCars, only 11.8% of car models, on average, are able to continue performing well after traveling more than 400,000 km. The evaluation by iSeeCars highlights that the most durable car models primarily consist of SUVs and pickups from Japanese and American brands.

Topping the list of the most durable cars is the Ford F-350 Super Duty pickup truck. Remarkably, 49.1% of the total vehicles sold of this model are still able to perform well even after reaching more than 400,000 km.

The legendary “rock,” the Toyota Land Cruiser, also makes it onto this list, securing the second position with 47.9% of the vehicles demonstrating stable performance after traveling more than 400,000 km.

Toyota also boasts the highest presence on this list, with five different models: Toyota Tundra (47.9%), Toyota Sequoia (47.1%), ranking third and fourth respectively. Additionally, the Toyota Tacoma secures the seventh position with 41.7%, while the Toyota 4Runner (41%) ranks tenth.

Other car models that showcase exceptional durability include the Honda Pilot (42.7%), Ford F-250 Super Duty (43.6%), GMC Sierra 2500 HD (41.3%), and Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD (41.2%).
