Surprisingly, news has emerged in the used car market that a billionaire in Kien Giang province is selling a McLaren 765LT for around VND 25 billion.
The car has traveled over 2,000 km and was first registered in January 2023, but it is a 2021 model year car.
The price of a brand new McLaren 765LT can go up to VND 31 billion. The car’s owner had to spend no less than VND 35 billion to drive this luxurious car. As a result, after just one year of ownership, the car’s value has depreciated by approximately VND 10 billion.
These figures do not even include the upgraded accessories that the owner has added to the car. The car is equipped with a Novitec exhaust system, featuring a sleek gold-plated exhaust pipe made of Inconel, a material known for its heat resistance and commonly used in Formula 1 race cars. This upgrade alone is estimated to cost around 11,155 Euros (equivalent to approximately VND 285 million).
Currently, the owner of this McLaren 765LT is a billionaire based in Kien Giang province who privately imported the car to Vietnam in June 2021. The car is regularly transported by ferry to Ngoc Island, Phu Quoc. However, due to its low ground clearance, the car faced many challenges during transportation. Perhaps this is one of the factors contributing to the owner’s decision to part ways with this luxury vehicle.
The McLaren 765LT is currently being sold with a stunning Venue Orange exterior color, complemented by black-painted composite material details that add highlights to its appearance.
Featuring the signature design of the renowned British supercar brand, the McLaren 765LT comes with an aerodynamics package predominantly made of carbon fiber, including a large front splitter, a front bumper, and modified side fins. Additionally, this model is equipped with distinctive butterfly doors, a larger rear air diffuser, and most notably, the Longtail standard flying wing at the rear.
All the seats in the car are designed in the style of racing cars, and the safety belts are in an eye-catching orange color. Moreover, the car’s ceiling is covered with premium suede material commonly seen in supercar models.
The driver’s side door features a small engraved metal plate with the inscription “381 of 765”. This denotes that the McLaren 765LT being sold is the 381st unit out of the total of 765 cars produced worldwide.
Powering the McLaren 765LT is a twin-turbo V8 engine with a displacement of 4.0L, delivering a maximum output of 755 horsepower and a peak torque of 799 Nm.
This engine pairs with a rear-wheel drive system and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, enabling the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 330 km/h.
Currently, there are approximately 5 McLaren 765LT cars in Vietnam, consisting of 4 privately imported hardtop versions and one soft-top version imported by the official dealer.
