The Hongqi car brand from China has gained popularity in Vietnam. Currently, the brand offers two models in Vietnam, the H9 and E-HS9. Recently, another Hongqi car called HS5 was introduced in Vietnam.
Mid-size SUV Hongqi HS5 available for sale in Vietnam
In the Vietnamese market, the Hongqi HS5 is available in three versions: Basic, Comfortable, and Flagship. The prices of these versions are 780 million, 820 million, and 870 million Vietnamese dong respectively. Despite being positioned in the mid-size SUV segment, the price of the HS5 is equivalent to C-segment SUVs such as the Hyundai Tucson, Mazda CX-5, and Ford Territory.

It’s important to note that the Hongqi HS5 currently available in Vietnam is the older version launched in 2019. A new version was introduced in the Chinese market last year.

The Hongqi HS5 has dimensions of 4,760 x 1,907 x 1,700 mm (length x width x height) and a wheelbase of 2,870 mm. It competes with the Hyundai Santa Fe, Kia Sorento, and Mazda CX-8 in Vietnam.

Designed by Italian company Italdesign, the older Hongqi HS5 features a large grille with chrome slats arranged in a waterfall design. LED headlights, fog lights, and 20-inch dual-tone alloy wheels enhance its appearance.

The Hongqi HS5 features a flat-bottomed steering wheel with integrated function buttons and paddle shifters. It has a digital instrument cluster connected to the central touch screen. The car is also equipped with a panoramic sunroof, electronic parking brake, automatic air conditioning, rear seat air vents, and a head-up display.

The Hongqi HS5 is powered by a 2.0L 4-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine, generating a maximum power of 224 horsepower and a peak torque of 340 Nm. It comes with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. The car also features an adaptive air suspension system.
In Vietnam, the Hongqi HS5 is available in three colors: black, white, and sandy gold. Delivery is expected before the Lunar New Year.
