Previewed by the BMW Vision Neue Klasse concept (which means New Class), the latest iteration of BMW’s Dee concept was unveiled at the IAA Munich 2023 auto show. The next-generation BMW 3 Series is expected to go into production by the end of 2025.

Similar to how the BMW i7 and 7 Series are similar cars with different powertrains, the next-generation BMW 3 Series and the Neue Klasse sedan are no different.

BMW Vision Neue Klasse

According to Automotive News, with the introduction of the Neue Klasse lineup starting in 2026, BMW is planning to introduce new names for its models to avoid confusion for customers.

The new 3 Series EV sedan will be named either i320 or i330 depending on the variant, while the internal combustion engine versions of the 3 Series will drop the ‘i’ (for gasoline variants) and ‘d’ (for diesel variants) in the vehicle names and be simply renamed as 320 and 330.

BMW 3 Series 2023

At the pinnacle of the most intense automotive revolution in the past 100 years and the transition to CASE – Connected, Autonomous, Shared, Electric – BMW once again believes in the new generation Neue Klasse to realize the ambitions of the German automaker for electrification and sustainability.
