Expected to be put into production with an annual output of 120,000 to 130,000 units, the Kia Tasman will not only be sold in the Korean market but also in major overseas markets such as North America and Australia.
Codenamed ‘TK,’ the Kia Tasman pickup is developed on a body-on-frame platform. While the official name has not been confirmed yet, Tasman seems to be the frontrunner. The reason is that Kia filed trademark applications for ‘TASMAN’ in several countries, including South Korea and Australia.
Tasman is expected to showcase Kia’s latest design language, such as the Opposites United design style and the Star Map Signature Lighting system, similar to the EV9 and EV5 models.
Kia plans to introduce various models, with the first variant expected to have a double-cab configuration equipped with diesel engines. The powertrain is expected to combine a 2.2L 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine and a 3.0L V6 diesel engine, along with a four-wheel-drive system.

In addition, the vehicle may also be offered with options for a 3.3L twin-turbocharged V6 petrol engine and potentially an all-electric version in the future.
The Kia Tasman is expected to be equipped with off-road driving assist features such as a four-wheel-drive system, locking differential, and off-road driving modes.
Globally, the Kia Tasman will compete with models such as the Chevrolet Colorado, Ford Ranger, GMC Canyon, Honda Ridgeline, and Nissan Frontier.
