After a long period of discontinuation, MG HS will make a comeback in Vietnam with a new version, which has been upgraded quite a lot in terms of equipment.

According to the announcement from the company, the MG HS 2024 model will be introduced to Vietnamese consumers at the launch event on the evening of January 28.

The MG HS 2024 is being shifted from being imported from China to Thailand. The dealer said that this C-segment SUV will be sold in two versions, Trophy and Sport, with expected prices of VND 750 million and VND 900 million respectively.

Compared to the old version distributed in Vietnam, the MG HS 2024 has a sportier appearance with a large grille, along with black gloss panels and soft flowing lines in the style of waterfalls. The LED headlights have a more sophisticated design, can automatically adjust the high/low beam and integrate daytime running LED lights. If it’s the same as the Thai market, the premium version of MG HS will be equipped with 18-inch multi-spoke wheels, LED turn signal integrated rearview mirrors, and a 360-degree camera.

In terms of interior, the MG HS 2024 features a sporty cabin with a D-cut steering wheel, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a Bose speaker system, and a 7-inch or 10-inch center screen depending on the version. In addition, this SUV model is also equipped with leather seats, 6-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, 3-spoke steering wheel with paddle shifters, and electronic parking brake.

The MG HS 2024 also has quite modern safety features, including: 6 airbags, lane-keeping assist, forward collision warning, emergency brake assist, blind-spot warning, safe exit warning, etc.

In the Thai market, MG HS 2024 has 2 engine versions. The first one is a 4-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine with a capacity of 1.5 liters, producing a maximum power of 162 horsepower and a maximum torque of 250 Nm. The power is transmitted through a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and front-wheel drive system.

The second one is a plug-in hybrid powertrain with the same 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine and an electric motor for a total output of 284 horsepower and a maximum torque of 480 Nm. With a 16.6 kW lithium-ion battery pack, the car can travel up to 67 km solely on electric power.
