The Crossover C segment is one of the most popular car segments in the Vietnamese market, with some familiar names such as Mazda CX-5, Honda CR-V, and Hyundai Tucson. Even in the used car market, Crossover C cars are always in high demand. These cars meet many criteria of users such as high ground clearance, spacious 5-7 seater interior, convenient equipment, sufficient safety, and affordable price.
In the current used car market, the Nissan X-Trail is a very competitively priced Crossover C model. According to some used car dealers in Hanoi, the current price of the Nissan X-Trail 2016-2017 ranges from 520-565 million VND, and the higher the model year, the more expensive it gets, ranging around 620 million VND, which is equivalent to new B-segment crossovers like the Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, or even lower than the recently launched Mitsubishi Xforce.
The Nissan X-Trail can be said to be the most value-for-money Crossover C car in the used car market today.
One of the reasons that the Nissan X-Trail has lost a lot of value in the used car market is the lack of new versions in Vietnam. This model has been discontinued in Vietnam since 2020 after changing its distributor in the country. In addition, the high cost of spare parts also affects the resale value of this model compared to its competitors in the same segment.

On the other hand, competitors such as the Honda CR-V, Mazda CX-5, or Hyundai Tucson have higher prices than the Nissan X-Trail. Especially the 2018 Honda CR-V – the new-generation model with a new design – is priced at over 740 million VND. For the 2017 model year, the price is slightly lower, around 650 million VND.
As for the Hyundai Tucson, a rare Korean representative in this segment, which also offers both petrol and diesel engine options. In the petrol version, the Hyundai Tucson offers two engine options: 2.0L and Turbo 1.6L. The 1.6L turbocharged version has a higher price than the 2.0L petrol version, but overall, all versions of the Tucson are priced between 610-680 million VND for the 2017-2018 model years. The 2016 Tucson has a price of about 580 million VND, quite high compared to the same generation Nissan X-Trail.
Another notable model in the Crossover C segment is the Mitsubishi Outlander. This model has not had many significant changes in its exterior and interior design for many years and even has a higher depreciation rate than the Nissan X-Trail. With the 2016 model year – the new-generation model, the Mitsubishi Outlander has a price of less than 500 million VND but with limited availability.
It can be seen that the Mazda CX-5, Honda CR-V, and Hyundai Tucson are still the top 3 choices for most users. These are also the 3 models that have always had new versions or technological improvements in the past 5 years.

Under the hood of the Nissan X-Trail is a 2.0L gasoline engine with a maximum power of 142 horsepower and a peak torque of 200 Nm, paired with a CVT transmission. With this power, the X-Trail can cope well with the current traffic infrastructure in Vietnam. However, because it is a used car, the X-Trail does not have active safety technology, and the age of the car is quite old, so it may not attract young customers.
