Suzuki has recently introduced the 5-door version of the Jimny to customers in the Southeast Asian market.

It will be distributed in the Philippines as a completely built-up import from India, with 3 variants: GL MT, GLX AT, and GLX AT, priced from 1,558 – 1,708 million Peso (approximately 681 – 746 million VND).

This price is significantly cheaper than the expected price of the 3-door Suzuki Jimny (789 million VND) preparing to be launched in Vietnam.

Suzuki Jimny 5-door has much larger dimensions compared to the 3-door version. The car has dimensions of 3,985 x 1,645 x 1,720 mm (length x width x height) and a wheelbase of 2,590 mm.

Aside from the difference in dimensions and door style, the design of the 5-door and 3-door Jimny remains the same. The car still carries a boxy shape, like a “mini G-Class”.

The car makes an impression with its round LED headlights, which have an automatic high-low beam adjustment feature. Meanwhile, the standard GL version only has halogen headlights.

Suzuki Jimny 5-door has a front grille formed by vertical slats, accompanied by a 15-inch multi-spoke wheel, with 195/80 tires and a spare tire fitted at the rear.

In the Philippines market, the car comes in exterior color options such as green, blue, white, and gray. Red with black roof and ivory with black roof are only available for the highest-grade variant.

As for the interior, the cabin of the Jimny 5-door is no different from the 3-door version. The car still has 4 seats and a luggage compartment capacity of 208L, which can be increased to 332L when the rear seats are folded.

The car features basic amenities such as a steering wheel with volume control buttons, an analog instrument panel integrated with a small multi-information display with a classic design, a 7-inch touchscreen, support for Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, and a 4-speaker audio system.

Customers who purchase the high-grade GLX variant will also be equipped with leather seats, a 9-inch center touchscreen, automatic air conditioning, and automatic folding rearview mirrors.

In terms of safety equipment, the car possesses a range of driving assist features such as 2 airbags (the GLX variant will have 6 airbags), ABS anti-lock braking system, electronic brake-force distribution (EBD), electronic stability control, hill start assist, reverse camera, and rear parking sensors.

Powering the Suzuki Jimny 5-door is a naturally aspirated 4-cylinder gasoline engine with a displacement of 1.5L, producing a maximum power of 105 horsepower and a peak torque of 136 Nm. This engine is combined with a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission, along with a 4WD AllGrip Pro drivetrain. The car’s drivetrain has modes including 2H (2WD High), 4H (4WD High), and 4L (4WD Low).
