Toyota is aiming to produce around 10.3 million vehicles in the next 5 years, which would be a record for a Japanese automaker.

As of November 2023, Toyota has delivered a total of 9.23 million vehicles.

In 2024, Toyota expects to produce 3.4 million vehicles in Japan and 6.9 million vehicles in other countries, including the Lexus brand.

According to reports, Toyota plans to produce about 250,000 electric vehicles in 2024, and this number is expected to increase to 600,000 units in 2025.

The increasing demand for Toyota’s vehicles is due to the popularity of hybrid models, including traditional hybrid, light hybrid, and plug-in hybrid vehicles.

As of November 2023, Toyota has sold a total of 3.1 million hybrid electric vehicles, 24,127 light hybrid vehicles, and 112,807 plug-in hybrid vehicles. In contrast, the sales of pure electric vehicles are relatively modest, with 95,220 units.

In the first 11 months of 2023, Toyota has produced 3,099,950 vehicles in Japan and 6,131,118 vehicles in overseas markets, representing a 27.3% and 4% increase compared to the same period in 2022.

If we include the total production of subsidiary brands Hino and Daihatsu, Toyota has produced a total of 10,612,020 vehicles from January to November 2023.
