The new Superquadro Mono engine has a displacement of 659cc, producing a maximum power of 77.5 horsepower at 9,750 rpm and a maximum torque of 64 Nm at 8,000 rpm. It is equipped with Desmodromic valves and Titanium intake valves, and the Hypermotard 698 features an elliptical throttle body with fuel injection.

For its electronic equipment, the Ducati Hypermotard 698 Mono features software that allows less experienced riders to ride like a Supermotard racer. The bike also offers four riding modes – Sport, Road, Urban, and Wet, as well as 3 engine modes.

In addition, the Hypermotard 698 Mono has 4 levels of ABS braking. This is the first Ducati model to offer this feature, integrating the Slide-by-Brake function using the rear brake to safely enter curves and repeat when sliding. Level 4 provides full ABS intervention, while levels 3 and 2 allow rear wheel lift assistance, and level 1 provides ABS only on the front brake.

Furthermore, it is equipped with four levels of wheel control, with levels 4, 3, and 2 enhancing maximum acceleration out of corners while minimizing front wheel lift. Level 1 is used for the racetrack and allows controlled and safe front wheel lift.

In addition, the Ducati Performance software for Ducati Wheelie Control is also available as an option. This mod can only be used with the unique Ducati Performance Termignoni exhaust on the racetrack, providing Wheelie Assist, allowing the wheel to extend, using engine torque to control the angle.

With a limited weight of 151 kg excluding fuel, the Ducati Hypermotard 698 Mono comes with cast alloy wheels fitted with Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tires, with sizes 120/70-17 at the front and 160/60-17 at the rear. The front suspension system uses lightweight 45mm inverted Marzocchi forks, fully adjustable with external adjustments and a 213mm travel.

At the rear, the fully adjustable Sachs monoshock provides a 240mm travel suspension system. The Brembo M4.32 4-piston radial caliper at the front acts on the 330mm disk with an aluminum carrier to save weight, while the rear wheel features a 240mm disk brake.

There are two variants of the Hypermotard 698 Mono model. The Hypermotard 698 Mono RVE comes with dedicated graphics and a Ducati quickshifter in both directions, while the standard version comes in Ducati Red and the quickshifter is an optional feature.
