On February 9, 2024, Honda officially introduced the upgraded version of the City Hatchback in the Thai market. This is a popular B-segment urban hatchback in the Land of Smiles.

In the new version, the Honda City Hatchback has a sportier design. Specifically, it features a new grille with a wave-like mesh design. Even the size of the grille has been improved compared to before.

In addition, it features new front and rear bumpers with LED fog lights on the high-end RS variant. Another highlight of this B-segment hatchback is the alloy wheels with a diameter of 15 inches for the base version and 16 inches for the RS variant.

The RS variant of the Honda City Hatchback 2024 will have a sportier front/rear bumper, front fog light cavity, and sportier rear wing. In addition, it will have alloy wheels, black-painted cross-bar garnish, and black-painted door mirrors. The “RS” logo will still be present on the front grille and rear trunk lid as the identifying feature.

Another change in the exterior is the new Brilliant Sporty Blue paint color for the premium variants. This color is paired with a contrasting black roof.

The remaining features such as LED headlights, integrated LED daytime running lights, automatic on/off headlights, LED taillights, body-colored door handles, shark fin antenna, and electrically adjustable/foldable mirrors with turn signal lights are still retained.

Inside the car, the Honda City Hatchback 2024 is equipped with some new features such as leather seats in the RS variant instead of fabric seats with red stitching as before. The rear seats can be folded 60:40 and can be arranged in 4 modes, including Utility Mode, Long Mode, Tall Mode, and Refresh Mode, to increase interior flexibility.

Next is the 8-inch touch screen with higher resolution and support for wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto. Behind the steering wheel is an analog instrument cluster with a 4.2-inch TFT color screen, while the rear seat has 2 new USB Type C ports.

Significantly, the Honda City Hatchback 2024 is equipped with the standard Honda Sensing active safety package in all variants. This package includes features such as collision mitigation braking, lane keeping assist with lane departure warning, road departure mitigation, adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow. The car also features a new feature that warns when a vehicle in front starts moving.

In addition, the car also has other safety features such as Honda LaneWatch blind-spot monitoring system, multi-angle rearview camera, electronic parking brake, auto brake hold, 6 airbags, and auto door lock when the key is out of the sensor area.

Standard version of the Honda City Hatchback 2024

Unfortunately, the engines of the Honda City Hatchback 2024 in the Thai market remain unchanged. First is the 3-cylinder, turbocharged, 1.0L gasoline engine, producing a maximum power of 122 hp and a peak torque of 173 Nm. The average fuel consumption of this engine is 23.3 km/L (about 4.29 L/100 km).

Second is the e:HEV hybrid powertrain with a 1.5L Atkinson Cycle 4-cylinder gasoline engine, producing a maximum power of 98 hp and a peak torque of 127 Nm. This engine is combined with a strong electric motor of 109 hp and 253 Nm. Additionally, the gasoline engine integrates another electric motor that acts as a generator and starter.

The hybrid version of the car has an average fuel consumption of 27.8 km/L (about 3.59 L/100 km). Moreover, the hybrid variant has 3 driving modes: EV Drive, Hybrid Drive, and Engine Drive.
