Recently, news about the import of a McLaren 650S Spider convertible car with a Liberty Walk modification into Saigon has quickly attracted the attention of car enthusiasts in Vietnam. In this “S” shaped strip of land, there are only 2 McLaren 650S Spider Liberty Walk cars.
It is known that after buying the McLaren 650S Spider convertible car with a Liberty Walk modification, this wealthy individual withdrew the vehicle registration and obtained a new license plate. However, the result did not yield a beautiful license plate number. As a result, this car enthusiast decided to change the license plate just a few days later.
Specifically, this wealthy individual successfully bid for the license plate number 51L-202.02 on January 15, 2024, between 16:30 and 17:00, with a cost of only 55 million VND. Regarding the significance of this license plate number, it contains a pair of 20s and is easy to remember. It does not contain the numbers 49, 53, or odd numbers 4 and 7.
As mentioned, there are only 2 McLaren 650S Spider Liberty Walk cars in Vietnam, including this one and one owned by Duong Kon, the husband of supermodel Ngoc Thach.
The McLaren 650S Spider Liberty Walk modification requires sacrificing the original aesthetics of the car to wear the wide body kit from the Japanese brand. The original wheel arches are cut and wider wheel arches are installed and secured with rivets.
The most difficult challenge in modifying the McLaren 650S Spider Liberty Walk is whether the retractable hardtop can still function properly. To achieve this, the Japanese modification brand had to carefully calculate and move the roof mechanism further back.
This modification package also includes a large front bumper made of carbon fiber, giving it a rugged look. The interior of the car is enhanced with additional carbon fiber side skirts. The most impressive feature of the McLaren 650S Spider Liberty Walk modification is the large fixed rear wing and carbon fiber rear diffuser.
In addition to the body kit modification, this McLaren 650S Spider convertible car will also be equipped with various accessories from the Liberty Walk package, including oversized wheels from Forgiato, adjustable air suspension from Air Rex, and an aftermarket exhaust system.
The McLaren 650S Spider is powered by a twin-turbocharged V8 engine with a displacement of 3.8 liters, generating a maximum power of 641 horsepower. The engine is coupled with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive. Thanks to these specifications, the McLaren 650S Spider convertible car can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3 seconds and reach a top speed of 328 km/h.
